While the majority of the 650,000+ China-born people living in Australia are here permanently, most choose to forgo Australian citizenship. So how do members of Australia’s mainland Chinese community view themselves, and how are they viewed by others — particularly now that the relationship between Canberra and Beijing is at an ebb.
